Commonwealth: This is where I live

Brandishing my brand new, shiny and glossy autocard into the open slot, the door of my well furnished apartment glided open and was greeted by the sweet scents of the air fresheners across the entire living room.

I headed straight towards the pantry room where a gigantic revolving glass container. The room was spotlessly clean and not a speck of dust could be spotted. My specially invented robot dustbin was an immediate success and was soon able to be sold to all parts of the world and soon it was breaking records set by the older generation for most popular items in the world till this date.

In the gigantic transparent revolving glass container, many rows of multi-coloured pills and those precious pills have to be taken three times a day without fail. These pills are the way of life. Through the many technologically advancements and all the brilliance and skillfulness of the scientists, the perfect formula was formed. Each of the pills was made of the precise amount of carbohydrates, proteins, fats as well as calcium and water and all necessities required for us humans to live a healthy lifestyle. As the pills are all coated with a thin layer of top grade honey, it can easily be swallowed without the aid of water and lubricants.

Living in this fanciful and technically advanced world and in this modern age, the great advancements in technology has gone far from one’s expectations. Life now is a completely different ball game altogether. The latest and the vastly important breakthough is that humans have been able to conquer death and would be able to live for eternity. Special pills containing pigments and vaccinations against certain diseases have been manufactured ad their reliability and effectiveness proven. Now, the once feared is all but vanished.

Immortality has reigned in all living organisms and the word ‘death’ is apparently not in the dictionary and the word has since become an obscurity. Just by asking a few passer-bys and this word ‘death’ will be alienated to them. As the result of this wonderful pills, planet Earth will no longer find any burial grounds and cremation sites anywhere at all. In fact, the word ‘coffin’ is too omitted from the latest version of the Oxford dictionary. Professional undertakers have since lost their jobs since they know that they would not get any business and hence have to seek new job opportunities.

With immortality gained, death cannot be sought though means of suicides and accidents. In the aspect of suicide, where they are countless way of attempting to take one’s life, a person is protected against poison, drugs and the once fatal diseases. For those who attempt to take their precious and valuable lives by throwing themselves off a sky scraper, their bodies will automatically bounce back to life upon landing on the rock solid ground. Also, victims of gun shots would at the most suffer from cuts which would take a few fays to recover. The pain is temporary and there is no need to worry about it.

Looking out of the windows, I stole a glance at my posh Ferrari, where its features are slick and stylish and everything is up to date and is automatically driven by the SMART key. Now, with technology’s help, I can get form one place to another in record time and without moving a muscle. As a result of the SMART key’s work, car accidents would never occur since the cars are operated with zero defects as well and run on rubber tyres. Thus, any unfortunate pedestrians who are knocked down would only suffer from minor injuries; not a single bone would get crushed.

It’s really amazing to reach a new year where one would never grow above the age of 21. By this, one would remain youthful forever and there is no dying and losing of body cells. The production and use of cosmetics have since been stopped as no one suffers from skin dehydration, wrinkles, heavy eye bags, freckles or pimples. One only requires consuming another special pill to get the desired complexion one wants.

However, there is a way of telling the old and the young apart. There is a difference in both the tone of the speech as well as their reflexes. These two key aspects have yet to be tackled. The old tend to suffer from the slurring of their speeches and delayed responses. Also, they tend to stammer and are much slower in their actions and responses. Based on these huge observations, research is being done to see if these two aspects can be fixed and solved. Regular conventions have been held in the hope that these problems can be eradicated.

However, I feel that there is no need to rush since immortality has already been achieved. Procrastination is no longer condemned by people for there is always a time and place for everything, any possible plans as well as activities.

Living in this era of the twenty-second century, life now has been more peaceful and we now live without fear for death has now been conquered that there is no fear regarding any health and environmental aspects. Now, don’t you think that living in such an era is interesting and wonderful and I am proud to say that this new place is where I live.
